On Tuesday night, Japanese pearl-centric brand Mikimoto launched its new high jewelry collection during Fashion Week with a cocktail party. The event, held at the Ascent Lounge, rebranded as 'Atelier M', showcased the brand's exquisite diamond and pearl pieces. Models adorned the room, illuminated by spotlights, each wearing a unique piece from the collection. Early in the evening, Kentaro Nishimura, the brand's CEO, welcomed Uma Thurman, who was wearing a stunning Mikimoto pendant tassel necklace with 427 Akoya cultured pearls and a 12-carat tanzanite. Thurman chatted with model Paloma Elsesser near the venue's floor-to-ceiling windows, overlooking Columbus Circle. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as guests, including Laura Kim, Laura Jung, and Tina Leung, explored the new Les Pétales and The Bows high jewelry collections. Nishimura emphasized the brand's commitment to creating jewelry that is both eye-catching and fluid, ensuring it flatters the body's contours. Nikki Kynard, a DJ, added to the evening's entertainment. Leung, who had just attended the Marc Jacobs show the night before, expressed her appreciation for Mikimoto's timeless pearls, stating that they are perfect for passing down through generations. The event celebrated Mikimoto's enduring appeal and its ability to cater to a wide range of tastes, from celebrities to everyday individuals.
