TV Tonight: Midsomer Murders Ceramicist Murder Mystery & Holiday Shows (2026)

Ready for a night in? Tonight's TV lineup offers a mix of mystery, festive cheer, and musical celebrations. Let's dive in!

Midsomer Murders on ITV1 at 8:30 PM promises another thrilling episode. This time, the drama unfolds within a family of all people. When the family patriarch, Henry Shirewell, passes away, his son Lucian, a ceramicist, stirs up trouble by planning to convert the family estate into an artists' community. This decision means everyone else must leave. But, a suspicious letter surfaces, and DCI Barnaby and DS Jamie Winter are called in to investigate a potential murder.

Following that, at 6:30 PM on BBC One, Celebrity Escape to the Country offers a relaxing escape from the post-Christmas period. Nicki Chapman assists celebrities in finding their ideal country homes. This episode features broadcaster Angellica Bell and her husband, Michael Underwood, a children's TV star turned teacher, as they search in Devon.

Then, at 7 PM on BBC Two, Richard Osman’s Festive House of Games returns with a Christmas edition. Alex Brooker from The Last Leg, comedian Rhys Darby, Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page, and EastEnders actor Molly Rainford will test their general knowledge in the second week of this festive gameshow.

At 8 PM on BBC One, MasterChef: Christmas Cook-Off brings recent winners back to compete in a Christmas showdown. Natalie (2013), Thomas (2020), Chariya (2023), and Brin (2024) will battle it out with their culinary skills, preparing a meal fit for royalty. Tom Parker Bowles will be the judge, with John Torode and Grace Dent presenting.

The Celebrity Apprentice: Christmas Special on BBC One at 9 PM features Alan Sugar. This two-part special for Children in Need will feature celebrities like Rob Rinder, Eddie Kadi, AJ Odudu, and former contestant Tom Skinner as they tackle challenges in Lapland.

Finally, at 9 PM on Sky Arts, Classic FM Live: 25th Anniversary Concert showcases the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (and its chorus) performing Jerusalem, Zadok the Priest, and Nessun Dorma, as part of Classic FM’s 25th-anniversary concert, recorded last October at the Royal Albert Hall.
